Description
In the captivating game of Alchemists, 2 to 4 aspiring alchemists engage in a thrilling competition to uncover the secrets of their magical art. You can earn points in multiple ways, but the real key is publishing correct theories. The game spans six rounds. At the start of each round, players pick their play order, with later players getting better rewards. Players declare actions by placing cubes on action spaces, and then each space is evaluated one by one. Use a smartphone app (available on iOS, Android, and Windows) to mix ingredients and test results, as the alchemy rules change randomly for each game. If you want something extra special, buy one of the 9 powerful but expensive magical artifacts to boost your game. They'll also earn you some reputation. You can make money by selling potions to adventurers, but it's just a means to gain respect, which usually comes from publishing theories. Your reputation will rise and fall during the game. After six rounds and a final exhibition, reputation turns into points. Points are also scored for artifacts and grants. Finally, the alchemy secrets are revealed, and you score or lose points based on your theories. The player with the most points at the end wins.
