Description
In Camel Up: Off Season, 3 - 5 players each get a caravan of four camels. These camels can carry 3, 4, 5, or 6 goods respectively. There are four types of goods: carpets, vases, dates, and non - date fruit. The number of markets in play is one more than the number of players. Each double - sided market shows how many face - up and face - down cards are placed and has a special power.
At the start of each round, players bid. The bidding rules are set by the back of the topmost goods card in the deck. The winner pays their bid to the bank, while others keep their coins. Coins are victory points, so use them wisely!
The winning bidder picks a market, can use its power, takes all the goods, flips them if needed, and loads them on camels. A camel can hold only one type of good, and if a good type is on a camel, you must keep loading that good on it. But each camel has a limit, and if you exceed it, you'll have to discard all of that type of good.
Then, other players in clockwise order choose an unchosen market, use its power if they want, and collect and load goods. Each player can sell goods from at most one camel. Dates pay more when you sell more at once. Carpets come in six colors, and you can't sell the same color twice in a batch. Vases have three types, and you can sell only one shape at a time. Fruit comes in four types, and you can sell only the lowest - valued one.
Place a 1 - coin on the unchosen market, flip the other markets, refill them with cards, and start the next round. When the deck runs out, play one more round and sell from each camel once. The player with the most money wins.
Let's start playing Camel Up: Off Season. First, gather 3 to 5 friends. Each of you will get a caravan of four camels. The camels can carry different amounts of goods, so plan carefully.
At the start of each round, there's a bidding. Check the back of the topmost goods card in the deck for the bidding rules. Remember, coins are victory points, so don't spend them all at once. The winner of the bid gets to choose a market first. They can use the market's special power if they want. Then they take all the goods from the market, flip them face - up if needed, and load them on their camels. But keep in mind, a camel can hold only one type of good, and it has a limit. If you go over the limit, you'll lose all the goods of that type.
After the winner, other players in clockwise order choose an unchosen market, use its power if they like, and collect and load goods. Then you can sell goods from at most one camel. Different goods have different selling rules. Dates are better to sell in large quantities. Carpets have six colors, and you can't repeat colors in a batch. Vases come in three types, and you can sell only one shape at a time. Fruit has four types, and you can only sell the lowest - valued one.
After each round, put a 1 - coin on the unchosen market, flip the other markets, and refill them with cards. When the deck runs out, play one more round and sell from each of your camels once. The one with the most money at the end wins!
As for maintenance, just keep the cards and camels in a dry place. If the cards get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft cloth. That's all you need to know to have a great time playing this game!
