Invite up to two extra players to your CATAN – Cities & Knights game for added fun. The 5 - 6 Player Expansion comes with extra pieces and components and a simple turn - taking system to involve all players. It's suitable for 5 - 6 players, takes 90+ minutes to play, and is for ages 12 and up. Features include dice rolling, hand management, memory, a modular board, network and route building, and trading. The theme combines base - game expansion, medieval, and negotiation elements. Components include 18 wooden player pieces in 2 colors, 2 development trackers, 21 cards, 2 player turn markers, and rules. Note: This is not a complete game. You need CATAN, CATAN: 5 - 6 player expansion, and CATAN – Cities & Knights expansion to play.
How to use: First, make sure you have CATAN, CATAN: 5 - 6 player expansion, and CATAN – Cities & Knights expansion. Set up the base game as usual. Then, add the components from this 5 - 6 player expansion. Use the 18 wooden player pieces in 2 colors for the additional players. The 2 development trackers can help you keep track of your progress. Shuffle the 21 cards and use them during the game. The 2 player turn markers will help you know whose turn it is. When barbarians appear, gather your knights to defend Catan. Take turns according to the simple turn - taking mechanism. Remember, this game is for 5 - 6 players, so make sure you have enough friends to join. It usually takes 90+ minutes, so set aside enough time. Since it's for ages 12 and up, younger players might find it a bit challenging. Maintenance: Keep the wooden pieces away from water to prevent damage. Store the cards in a dry place to avoid warping. Put all the components back in the box neatly after each game to keep them organized.
