In the thrilling two - player board game Caverna: Cave vs Cave, each player begins with just two dwarves and a small mountain - side excavation. Over eight rounds, double your workforce, create new living spaces in the mountain, build new rooms and buildings, and dig for precious metals. Each player gets an individual player board filled with a random mix of face - down building/room tiles and only one available space. Some tiles are face - up and for sale at the start, and four action tiles are also face - up. At the start of each round, a new action tile is revealed. Players take turns taking actions, with the number of actions increasing from two to four during the game. As you excavate your mountain board, new building and room tiles are added. Some rooms can be used right away, while others need an action tile. After eight rounds, count your points for built buildings and collected gold to find the winner.
