Description
This exciting expansion for the game can be used in two great ways. It includes both the Garden of Hesperides and Atlas Overload expansions. Will you assist mighty Atlas in bearing the weight of the world, or will you steal Golden Apples from the mythical Garden of Hesperides? This package comes with a 120 - mm - tall plastic Atlas monument, 15 Golden Apple tokens, a plastic weight token, and a double - sided board. With two usage modes - Atlas overload and The Garden of the Hesperides! In the Garden of Hesperides, Atlas serves as a unique'monument'. It starts the game fully built (a single - part miniature). Players can send up to 6 soldiers (instead of priests) to it. By sacrificing soldiers, you can collect Golden Apples, which are an additional resource that can be instantly exchanged during the game for various bonuses like healing hero wounds, saving soldiers from death, adding army strength to battles, and more epic bonuses for more apples exchanged. Atlas can carry the alternative side of the board with The Garden of the Hesperides. This means you get two gameplay additions with this expansion. The Garden of the Hesperides expansion creates cool situations and excitement with additional resources for different in - game scenarios. You can start with Atlas as the 4th monument, fully built. Players can send a maximum of 1 hoplite from any region (rules differ for 2 players) under Atlas. Once 6 slots are filled, hoplites are sacrificed to get Golden Apples. Golden apples can be used at any time for various effects. The Atlas Overload rules change the game. It negates the normal winning condition of a fully - built monument ending the game. Place the Atlas miniature next to the Atlas Overload board and start the 'weight' token at 0. As new temples, monument parts, or monsters appear, add weight to Atlas's shoulder. When the weight reaches 12, Atlas's crisis procedures start, and the weight decreases by 1 at the end of each player's turn. When it reaches 0, the world falls apart, and all players lose. But you can help Atlas by placing an 'Aid to Atlas' quest token in a region. Heroes can assist Atlas, removing them from the board but increasing the weight track by their strength. This expansion adds a ticking 'clock' to the game, changing its dynamics.
How to use: First, assemble the 120 - mm plastic Atlas monument if needed. For the Garden of Hesperides mode, start the game with Atlas fully built. Send your soldiers to Atlas to collect Golden Apples, which can be used for various bonuses during the game. In the Atlas Overload mode, place the Atlas miniature next to the Atlas Overload board and the 'weight' token at 0. As new game elements appear, add weight to Atlas. If the weight reaches 12, the countdown begins. You can help Atlas by using the 'Aid to Atlas' quest token. Note: The rules for sending hoplites under Atlas differ for 2 - player games. Also, once you send a hero to help Atlas, they're out of the board for the rest of the game. Maintenance: Keep the plastic parts, tokens, and board away from sharp objects and excessive heat to prevent damage. Store them in a dry place when not in use to keep them in good condition.
