The Lord of the Sun expansion features an Apollo monument in 5 parts, 6 muse models, 10 blessing cards from Apollo, and 9 muse cards. This expansion adds fresh elements to the game with an extra monument boasting new powers. The Apollo monument lets you recruit Muses, choose upcoming events, refresh your special actions exclusively, and use monsters on the board. Muses change the game significantly. Once recruited in a region you control, they act like heroes, can't be attacked by other armies, and offer special bonuses like healing wounds, boosting stats, or gathering hero tokens. When on the board, they help you earn glory tokens, for instance, winning a battle in a region with your muse(s) gets you a glory token for that land.

Using the Lord of the Sun expansion is easy. First, set up the Apollo monument by assembling its 5 parts on the game board. Then, distribute the 10 blessing cards from Apollo and 9 muse cards among the players. To recruit Muses, use the powers of the Apollo monument. Once you have a Muse in a region under your control, it will start helping you as described on its card. When it comes to choosing upcoming events or refreshing your special actions, just follow the rules of the main game with the added powers from the expansion. Keep in mind that Muses act like heroes and can't be attacked by other armies.
