Memorinth

It's a lovely spring day, ideal for a forest walk. You gear up and set off. As you stroll, the leaves rustle, sunlight filters through the branches, and a gentle breeze blows. You're soon lost in thought, wandering left and right. Suddenly, you hear a rustle in the bushes and find a talking goose with a goblin! Then your friends appear in the forest. You quickly decide to head home as there's something odd about this forest. In Memorinth, the fairy - tale characters offer to show you the shortest way back, but your friends keep changing the path. With a bit of luck and good memory, you can be the first to escape the labyrinth! To start, place the clearing tile in the center of the table and arrange other tiles to form a 5x5 grid, alternating light and dark sides. Put two of the eight fairy - tale characters on each side of the grid. On your turn, flip an unoccupied tile matching the clearing tile's light/dark status. If it has a character, move your piece towards that side if there's a connecting path. Starting from the second round, the clearing tile flips, testing your memory. There's also a'master mode' with a special double - sided action tile. Revealing characters next to it can lead to tile removal, swapping, or getting a lucky clover token. This game is for 2 - 4 players, takes 15 - 30 minutes, and is suitable for ages 6 and up.

Let's get started with Memorinth! First, set up the game. Put the clearing tile in the middle of the table and arrange the other tiles to make a 5x5 grid around it. Remember to alternate the light and dark sides of the tiles, starting with the light side on the clearing tile. Then place two fairy - tale characters on each side of the grid. When it's your turn, flip an unoccupied tile that matches the light or dark status of the clearing tile. If there's a fairy - tale character on the revealed side, try to move your player piece towards that side of the grid. But make sure there's a path connecting your current tile to the new one; if not, you stay put. Starting from the second round, the clearing tile will change its light/dark state. You need to keep in mind where the characters are so you can move effectively. In the master mode, things get a bit more exciting. Place four fairy - tale characters around the special double - sided action tile. Depending on which side of the tile and which character you reveal, you might remove a tile from the grid, swap tiles or characters, peek at the bottom of a tile, or get a lucky clover token. The lucky clover token is important as it allows you to walk on paths with goblins. As you play, keep your eyes on the time as the game usually takes 15 - 30 minutes. Also, make sure all players understand the rules clearly before starting. After the game, keep the tiles and pieces in a safe place to avoid losing them.
