The key mechanic of this new army is gamble management. When you discard tokens, you earn gambles. You can then use these gambles to activate the traits of units on the board because using their abilities isn't free. For example, the Headhunter has a regular ranged attack, but you need to spend a gamble to trigger its sniper shot ability. If you don't pay, the trait won't work. Merchant Guild soldiers generally have low initiative. This is crucial because the cost of activating a perk equals the unit's initiative. Activating the Headhunter Sniper costs one gamble, while a soldier with initiative 2 costs two. You can manage up to 7 gambles at a time, giving you plenty of strategic space.

To use this game, start by understanding the gamble - management mechanic. Discard tokens during the game to earn gambles. When it's time to use the special abilities of your units, remember that you need to spend gambles. For units with low initiative, it'll cost fewer gambles to activate their perks. Keep in mind that the maximum number of gambles you can handle at once is 7, so plan your moves carefully. There aren't many maintenance requirements for this game.
