Barbarians at the Gates

Barbarians at the Gates is an exciting card - driven game crafted by game designer Kris van Beurden, known for Europe in Turmoil. Designed for two players, it takes you back to the last century of the Western Roman Empire, from 337 to 476. The Roman player gets to command Roman legions loyal to the weakening central power and the Germanic tribes that have peacefully settled within the empire. Meanwhile, the Barbarian player leads Usurper Emperors and controls the migrations of fierce Germanic barbarians who are at the empire's gates. It offers a thrilling historical strategy gaming experience.

How to play: First, decide who will be the Roman player and who will be the Barbarian player. Shuffle the game cards. The Roman player starts by deploying their legions and managing the settled Germanic tribes. The Barbarian player can then move their forces and try to break through the Roman defenses. Each turn, use the cards to make strategic decisions. Things to note: Pay close attention to the historical time frame and the capabilities of each side. Don't over - extend your forces.
