Description
Kingsburg - Third Edition features the latest rulebook and the finest expansion modules developed since its first release. These include Soldier tokens, Governor cards, and extra buildings. The game has also received a fresh look with redesigned artwork and components. The realm of Kingsburg is under threat! Monstrous invaders are amassing at the borders, set on invasion and plunder. Your king has entrusted you with a border province. You'll manage it and help defend the realm. To succeed, you need to sway the King's advisors and the Royal Family to get gold, wood, stones, and soldiers for land expansion and defense. But you're not the only governor vying for the advisors' help; other players also want the best resources for their territories. King Tritus awaits. Can you become the most influential and powerful governor in the realm? The Kingsburg game spans five years, 20 turns in total. Each year has three production seasons for resource collection, building construction, and troop training. Every fourth turn is winter, when all players must fight an invading army. It's not a cooperative game, so each player faces the invaders alone. Resources for building and training are gathered by influencing the King's Council advisers. Players place their influence dice on Council members, and each adviser rewards different resources, allocates soldiers, victory points, and other benefits to the player who influenced them this turn. The player with the lowest influence dice sum gets to choose where to spend their influence first, balancing unlucky rolls. A smart player can still get good resources and/or soldiers even with a bad roll. After five years, the player who develops their territory best and pleases the King through the Council wins.

Remember, this isn't a cooperative game, so you're on your own against the invaders. To get resources for building and training, you'll need to influence the King's Council advisers. Place your influence dice on the Council members. Each adviser will give you different rewards like resources, soldiers, victory points, or other benefits. If you roll the lowest sum on your influence dice, you get to choose where to spend your influence first. This helps if you have an unlucky roll. Try to be smart and make the most of every turn. At the end of five years, the goal is to have developed your assigned territory the best and pleased the King through the Council. As for maintenance, keep the game components in a dry and safe place. After each play, put all the pieces back in the box neatly. Avoid bending the cards or losing the tokens. That way, your Kingsburg game will stay in good condition for many more rounds of fun.
