Description

Ascension: Vigil's Rise is an exciting deck - building game. Players draw cards from a central pool and place them in their discard pile to be shuffled into their deck. Creatures in the shared card pool offer battles for victory points (VPs) and other perks, like removing useless cards from your deck or banishing useful cards from the pool. The game wraps up when all VPs are claimed or the shared deck runs out. Part of the Ascension series, it works as a standalone for 2 - 4 players and an expansion for up to 6. Rise of Vigil adds treasure cards, specifically 'Energy Shards'. When you draw a treasure, place it in the shared pool and keep drawing until a hero, monster, or construct covers it. Acquiring or defeating the top card gets you the treasure, which goes into your deck. Playing a treasure from your hand lets you draw another card. The energy on these cards can activate special powers of certain heroes, constructs, and monsters. Non - treasure cards can also give energy but are usually VP - worthy, while treasure is mainly for energy, and energy can be used multiple times per turn.

How to play Ascension: Vigil's Rise is easy. First, start by drawing cards from the central pool and putting them in your discard pile. When creatures appear in the shared pool, fight them to earn victory points and other benefits. The game ends when there are no more victory points or the shared deck is empty. If you draw a treasure card, place it in the shared pool and keep drawing until you get a hero, monster, or construct. When you get or beat the top card, you get the treasure. Playing a treasure from your hand allows you to draw another card. Remember, you can use the energy on the treasure cards to activate special powers. Non - treasure cards can also give energy, but they usually give victory points. Energy can be used more than once per turn. As for maintenance, keep your cards in a dry and clean place to prevent damage. And make sure to shuffle your deck well before each game to keep the gameplay fair and random.
