Description
Get ready to embark on an adventure to an uncharted island! In La Isla, you and other players lead a team of five scientists. The goal is to capture animal species for study and score points. The game board features oddly - shaped tiles arranged circularly around a central polygonal tile. Thirty - five animal tokens of five types are randomly placed on spaces numbered 2, 3, and 4, corresponding to the number of surrounding camps. Each turn, players place three cards face - down in A, B, and D slots. Revealing A cards gives access to special powers, and B cards let you collect goods. Place scientists on camps after paying resources. If you have a scientist on each camp around an animal space, claim the animal tile and score points. The D - slot card boosts an animal's value, and you score points based on the type. Each animal has a points threshold, and the game ends when the sum of animal values reaches 7, 9, or 11. Tally your scores to find the winner.
To start playing La Isla, gather with other players. Each of you gets a team of five scientists. The game board is set up with the oddly - shaped tiles in a circle around the central tile, and the animal tokens are randomly placed. On your turn, take three cards and put them face - down in the A, B, and D spaces. First, all players reveal their A cards at the same time and use the special power shown. Then, reveal the B cards and collect the goods. When it's time to place a scientist on a camp, make sure to pay two resources that match the camp type. If all your scientists are on the board, move one instead. When you have a scientist on every camp around an animal space, you can take the animal tile and score points. Remember, the D - slot card can increase the value of an animal. You'll score one point for each animal of the type you've boosted. Keep an eye on the points threshold for each animal. The game will end when the sum of values for all five animals reaches 7, 9, or 11 depending on the number of players. After the game ends, add up your scores to see who wins. As for maintenance, keep the cards and tokens in a safe place to avoid damage. Make sure to store them flat so they don't bend. Also, handle the game pieces gently to keep them in good condition.
