Description
Far to the south, the Johktari tribes of Kumanjaro have thrived for centuries. But now, a century of peace has turned into conflict as Westlock's forces claim territories for the crown and Asyra's glory. In this Mage Wars expansion, players can take on matches as a Priest of the Order of Malakai or a Johktari Beastmaster. Each comes with new ability cards and a treasure - trove of spells from all spell schools. The Johktari Beastmaster is a proud and fierce hunter. She defends her people's land from invaders, is a skilled archer with Ranged +1 for non - spell ranged attacks. Her Sprinting ability lets her run as fast as a cheetah, giving her the Fast trait. And with her Wounded Prey ability, she can mark and chase down wounded foes with her animals. The Priest of Malakai is a crusader against non - believers, seeking justice with holy retribution. His basic melee attack deals light damage, and once per round, his light - dealing attacks can set enemies ablaze with Malakai's Fire. His Holy Avenger ability rounds out his might. Some creatures, like the Guardian Angel, introduce the Intercept ability to protect their mages from ranged attacks. This set also adds three new conditions: Bleed, Stuck, and Tainted.
To play this Mage Wars expansion, first, choose whether you want to be the Johktari Beastmaster or the Priest of Malakai. Each character has unique abilities and new spell cards, so take your time to understand them. When you start a match, use your character's abilities as appropriate. For example, the Beastmaster can use her Sprinting ability to quickly move across the board and her Wounded Prey to target weakened opponents. The Priest can use his light - dealing attacks and Holy Avenger ability to strike down enemies. Remember that some creatures in this expansion have the Intercept ability, which can be used to protect your mage from ranged attacks. As for the new conditions like Bleed, Stuck, and Tainted, make sure you know how they affect the game. When it comes to maintenance, keep the cards in a card protector to prevent damage. Store the game in a cool, dry place to avoid warping or fading of the cards. Have fun playing and may your magic prevail!
