Carcassonne Hills & Sheep

Carcassonne: Hills & Sheep is the ninth numbered expansion for the Carcassonne base game. In this expansion, players can be shepherds on the hills along with the usual thieves, knights, monks, and farmers. Place tiles to build hills and vineyards, and plan ahead to claim the best meadows for points. Bring in sheep and shepherds while watching out for the wolf hidden among the tiles. When adding a tile with a hill icon to the playing area, place it on another randomly - drawn tile to create a hill. Hill tiles can break ties. If multiple players have an equal share of a feature, the one with a follower on a hill tile gets all the points. Vineyards increase the importance of monasteries. Each vineyard tile around a completed monastery adds three bonus points, which may lead players to sabotage opponents' monasteries. Shepherds are new pieces for fields. When expanding a field with a shepherd, players can either draw a sheep token or trade in accumulated sheep for points. But beware, there are two wolf tokens among the sheep tokens. If drawn, all sheep are lost. The goal remains to claim the most points and win the game, and it's part of the Carcassonne series.

How to use: Start with the Carcassonne base game and then introduce the Hills & Sheep expansion tiles. When you play, place the tiles as described to build hills, vineyards, and fields. For hill tiles, put them on top of other randomly - drawn tiles. For shepherds in fields, decide whether to draw a sheep token or trade in sheep for points when expanding the field. Things to note: Keep an eye out for the wolf tokens among the sheep tokens. If you draw a wolf, all your sheep will be lost. Also, remember that vineyard bonus points only count for completed monasteries. Maintenance advice: Store the tiles and tokens in a dry place to avoid damage. You can use a box or a bag to keep them organized.
