Description

The realm of Kingsburg is under siege! Monstrous invaders are massing at the borders, threatening to invade and loot the kingdom. Your king has tasked you with governing a border province. Manage your province and help defend the realm. To succeed, influence the King's advisors and the Royal Family to get gold, wood, stones, and soldiers for land expansion and defense. But you're not the only governor vying for the advisors' help! Other players also want the best resources for their territories. King Tritus awaits. Can you become the most influential and powerful governor? The Kingsburg game spans five years, 20 turns in total. Each year has three production seasons for resource collection, building construction, and troop training. Every fourth turn is winter, when all players face an invading army. It's not a cooperative game; each player battles the invaders alone. Resources for building and training are gathered by influencing the King's Council advisors. Place your influence dice on Council members, and each advisor rewards different resources, allocates soldiers, victory points, and other benefits to the player who influences them this turn. The player with the lowest influence dice sum chooses first where to spend their influence, balancing unlucky rolls. Even with bad luck, a smart player can get good resources and/or soldiers from the Council. At the end of five years, the player who develops their assigned territory best and pleases the King through the Council wins. Kingsburg (Second Edition) comes with six expansion modules for the base game.

How to play: The game takes place over five years with 20 turns. Each year has three production seasons for gathering resources, building, and training troops. Every fourth turn is winter, when you fight invaders. Place your influence dice on the King's Council members to get resources. The player with the lowest dice sum chooses first. At the end of five years, the one who developed their territory best and pleased the King wins. Note: It's not a cooperative game, so each player fights the invaders on their own. Maintenance: Keep the game components in a dry place to avoid damage. The expansion modules can be added to the base game for more fun.
