Description
Knit Wit is an exciting word game similar to Scattergories. Instead of using fixed categories, players create their own during the game. To start, each player gets numbered spools, looped strings, and an answer sheet according to the number of players. Bonus buttons with 1 - 4 holes are stacked on the table. Players take turns placing loops around spools, attaching word tags, and adding spools to loop sections. Once all spools are placed, everyone races to find words, names, or phrases related to the word tags on each spool. When someone finishes or can't think of more answers, they grab a button. After the last button is taken, no more writing is allowed. Players then compare answers, cross out duplicates, and score points. Each answer is worth points equal to the number of loops around the spool, and buttons are worth points equal to the number of holes. The player with the highest score wins.
To play Knit Wit, first, distribute numbered spools, looped strings, and an answer sheet to each player based on the number of players. Stack the bonus buttons on the table. Players go around the table clockwise. Each player after the first places a loop around a spool, attaches a word tag to the loop, and then adds a spool to a loop section without one. Once all spools are placed, quickly think of words, names, or phrases related to the word tags on each spool. When you can't think of more answers, grab a button from the stack. Once the last button is taken, stop writing. Compare your answers with others, cross out the ones you have in common, and calculate your score. Remember, each answer is worth points equal to the number of loops around the spool, and buttons are worth points equal to the number of holes. Keep the game components clean and dry to maintain them well. Have fun playing!
