In the Legendary Inventors board game, 2 - 5 players get to captain a team of four of history's greatest inventors. Your goal? Lead your team to glory by creating useful objects that can improve the world. Compete fiercely against rival teams to patent inventions and enhance your inventors' knowledge. The team that patents the most inventions or has the smartest inventors takes the win! The game unfolds over three ages, each representing a different stage of technological progress, with inventions getting more complex as you move forward. On your turn, you can either send an inventor to work on an invention or refresh your team. When you send an inventor, apply their unique skills - like Albert Einstein's starting four - point Physics skill or Johannes Gutenberg's two - point Mechanics skill - against the invention's requirements, and mark your progress with colored cubes. Once an invention is complete, the top three contributors are rewarded. You can choose to acquire and patent the invention by placing the card face up in front of you, or earn reward tokens to upgrade your inventors, gain extra victory points, and add more knowledge to an invention. As soon as only two inventions in an age remain incomplete, that age ends and a new one begins. After the third age, the team with the most victory points claims victory!
To play the Legendary Inventors board game, first, gather 2 to 5 players. Each player takes charge of a team of four inventors. At the start of your turn, you have two options. You can either send one of your inventors to work on an invention or refresh your entire team so they're all available again. When sending an inventor to work, look at their starting skills, like Physics or Mechanics, and match them against what the invention needs. Use the colored cubes to mark your progress. When an invention is finished, the top three players who contributed the most get rewards. You can either patent the invention or use the reward tokens to make your inventors better, get extra victory points, or add more knowledge to an invention. As the game progresses through three ages, remember that the inventions will become more complex. Pay attention to when most of the inventions in an age are complete, as this signals the start of a new age. After the third age, the team with the most victory points wins.
