This is a discounted game because of the damaged box. Profit from railroad companies constructing tracks across South Africa. Age of Rail: South Africa, the fourth title in Capstone Games' 'Iron Rail' series, is a new version of the 2011 South African Railroads. It's an extensive re - development of Veld Railroads, a sister game of Pampas Railroads. Your goal is to out - earn others by holding shares and getting dividend payments from railroad companies. After an initial auction for the companies' first shares, players take turns choosing from four actions: build track, develop settlement, offer stock, and pay dividends. These actions have limits. For example, there's only one dividend action. Once a player chooses it, the action is blocked until their next turn, when they must pick a different one. There are two 'offer stock' actions and three 'develop settlement' actions, while 'build track' can be repeated. When players buy stock, the money goes to the company's treasury for track - building. Developing settlements boosts station values, and a railroad's income rises when it connects to stations. When dividends are paid, the company's income is divided by five (the number of shares) and paid to share owners. After the sixth dividend, the game ends, and the final payout includes bonuses based on company links and is paid according to issued shares. This game is for 3 - 6 players, takes 40 - 60 minutes, and is suitable for ages 12 and up. Features include Action Drafting, Auction/Bidding, Stock Holding, and Victory Points as a Resource.

To play this Age of Rail: South Africa board game, first start with an initial auction for the first shares of the railroad companies. Then, players take turns picking from four actions: build track, develop settlement, offer stock, and pay dividends. Remember, some actions are limited. For example, the dividend action can only be used once per turn per player. If you choose it, you'll have to pick a different action on your next turn. When you buy stock, the money goes into the company's treasury to build more tracks. Developing settlements is a great way to increase the value of stations, which in turn can boost the railroad's income. The game ends after the sixth dividend payment. The final dividend has bonuses based on the number of company links. Just note that this game is sold as it is due to the damaged box, so there's no refund or exchange if you're not happy with its condition. Check the damage details in the attached pictures before you order. This game is best for 3 - 6 players aged 12 and up and takes about 40 - 60 minutes to play. Keep the game in a dry place and handle the cards and pieces gently to maintain it well.
