Description

Biblios - Quill and Parchment is an exciting 'roll and write' adaptation of the well - loved Biblios. Step into the shoes of a monastic scribe. Each day in the monastery is filled with long hours of copying books, praying, and completing tasks. By working hard and praying, gain the abbot’s trust and show your commitment to the pious life. The goal of the game is to score the most piety points. It unfolds over 8 days or rounds. In the first 4 days, players roll their own dice simultaneously. These dice display various book types, abbot influence, and travel points, and players can roll up to 3 times. After each roll, you have three choices: keep the dice as they are, reroll one die, or roll all the dice. Most dice are resource dice representing the books the monks are copying. There are also abbot influence dice (accumulated in the first half and spent in the second half of the game) and a travel die that lets a player's novice go to towns, do good deeds, and find more books. In the last 4 rounds, use your abbot influence to bid for task priority. This is a unique 'roll + write' game with auctions and high interactivity. After 8 days, the game ends, and players calculate their scores. Like in the original Biblios, the value of books changes during the game, so you won't know which books are most valuable until the end. It's suitable for 1 - 4 players, takes 30 - 40 minutes to play, and is for ages 14 and up.

How to play: First, gather 1 - 4 players who are 14 years old or above. The game lasts about 30 - 40 minutes. The game has 8 rounds. In the first 4 rounds, each player rolls their dice that show book types, abbot influence, and travel points. You can roll up to 3 times per turn. After each roll, decide if you want to keep the dice, reroll one die, or roll all the dice. Use the travel die to send your novice to towns for more books and good works. In the last 4 rounds, use your abbot influence to bid for task priority. At the end of 8 days, calculate your piety points. Things to note: The value of books changes during the game, so don't be too hasty in choosing which books to focus on. Make strategic decisions based on the changing situation. Maintenance: Keep the game components in a dry and clean place. Avoid exposing the dice and game board to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures to prevent damage.
