Description

In 1897, as the World's Fair opened in Brussels, Art Nouveau swept through the city streets. Now, it's your chance to etch your name in art history! Bruxelles 1897, a card game based on the Bruxelles 1893 board game, offers an exciting experience for a wide range of gamers. Its mechanics, simplified from the original without sacrificing depth, will make players of the board - game feel right at home. The game spans 4 rounds, each with a variable number of turns. Action cards, aligned in 4 columns, represent different actions. At the start, each player holds 5 Architect cards valued from 1 to 5. Use them to take actions in the Art Nouveau and Brussels areas. In the Art Nouveau area, replace an Action card with an Architect card and pay its value. Actions in the Brussels area are free but need more Architect cards to activate, with a risk of one going to prison. Actions earn victory points during the game and help you progress on tracks, which also give points at the end based on your strategy. When all players pass, the round ends, and majorities are calculated based on Architect card positions in the Art Nouveau area, granting bonuses and victory points. After the fourth round, a final scoring phase determines the winner.

To play Bruxelles 1897, first, each player gets 5 Architect cards at the start of the game. These cards are used to perform actions in two areas: Art Nouveau and Brussels. In the Art Nouveau area, pick an Action card, replace it with one of your Architect cards, and pay the value on the Architect card. In the Brussels area, the actions are free, but you'll need to use more Architect cards as the game goes on. Be careful, as there's a chance one of your Architect cards might end up in prison. Each round consists of a variable number of turns. When all players decide to pass, the round ends. At this point, majorities are calculated based on the position of Architect cards in the Art Nouveau area. This will give you bonuses and victory points. The game has 4 rounds in total. After the fourth round, there's a final scoring. The player with the most points wins. Remember to plan your strategies carefully as the tracks also give points at the end of the game. Keep your Architect cards in mind and think about which actions will help you score the most points. There aren't any special maintenance requirements for this card game. Just keep the cards in a dry place and away from direct sunlight to keep them in good condition.
