Lacrimosa, a captivating board game with hand - building and hand - management mechanics, spans over 5 rounds. In this game, you'll record shared memories, use scenarios to commission and sell works, visit opulent courts across the continent, and, most importantly, help complete the Requiem. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's last act was composing the Lacrimosa movement of his Opus Requiem. As one of his sponsors, you'll meet his widow, contribute to his works one last time, and relive memories with him. You'll aim to be portrayed well in her memoirs and enter history as his most significant patron. Players take on the roles of patrons of the late musician. The game unfolds in two timelines: the present, where you commission the missing parts of the Requiem from other composers, and the past, which is divided into five epochs. In the past, you buy new compositions from Mozart for sale or exhibition, accompany him on European tours, and gather resources to support his career. Throughout the game, you play cards from a limited hand that improves as the game goes on. These cards can be used as actions or resource generators, and you must optimize your resources and finances to support the best - possible story and your relationship with Mozart.
