In 1347, merchant galleys from the Crimean Peninsula docked at the ancient port of Messina in Sicily. These galleys brought rats, which carried fleas infected with the plague known as the Black Death. Over the next four years, half of Europe's city - dwellers perished. Messina 1374, a new board game from the designer of Underwater Cities and Praga Caput Rengi, lets players step into the shoes of noble families with land around Messina. Their mission is to rescue people from the plague by moving them to their estates. As the plague worsens, players build independent communities and use fire to control it. In the final rounds, as the plague fades, players repopulate the resilient city of Messina. Suitable for ages 14 and up, it can be played by 1 - 4 players, with a playtime of 60 - 140 minutes.

How to play: First, each player takes on the role of a noble family. At the start, focus on identifying people affected by the plague and relocating them to your estates. As the game progresses and the plague gets worse, start building small independent communities. Use fire strategically to control the spread of the plague. In the final rounds, send the rescued citizens back to Messina to repopulate it. Note: This game is for players aged 14 and above.
